Trump’s AI Terminology Shift Drives Global Demand for Slovenia’s .si Domains

According to CNET, interest in Slovenia’s .si domain extension has risen sharply since President Donald Trump announced a shift from “artificial intelligence” to “super intelligence.” Elon Musk has also agreed to rename his AI business from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI.

Slovenia’s domain registry recorded more than 10,000 registrations daily starting Wednesday, according to the report. September saw over 46,000 registrations, compared with 3,515 in August. The registry launched the extension in September 2025 and permits registrations by people outside Slovenia.

Companies are acquiring domain names for potential branding, while other buyers hope to sell them later. The AI.si domain is being offered for almost $700,000. Hosting provider Hostinger told TechCrunch that .si had become its second-most-popular extension after .com, with US and Indian customers accounting for more than half of purchasers.

Trump introduced the terminology change during a United Nations speech on September 22 and later issued an executive order outlining the initiative. He subsequently announced a Super Intelligence Force led by National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton.

The trend reflects how changes in technology terminology can influence demand for web addresses. CNET notes that Slovenia’s registry charges registrars approximately $11 per domain, while Anguilla generated more than $85 million last year through registrations of its .ai extension.
