Recursive Superintelligence announced a multiyear $410 million computing agreement with Amazon Web Services, according to TechCrunch. The AI startup emerged from stealth in May with $650 million in funding and is developing systems designed to improve themselves.
Founder and CEO Richard Socher said the agreement is expected to be the first of several large computing commitments. The company is directing substantial resources toward computing infrastructure rather than traditional staffing and operational expenses, aiming to automate more of its product development.
Amazon is not investing in the company as part of this arrangement. Instead, AWS will provide infrastructure support tailored to Recursive's requirements. Jason Bennett, AWS vice president for startups and venture capital, said the partners will jointly develop infrastructure designed for companies pursuing similar approaches.
Recursive intends to apply self-improving AI technology to practical products. Socher indicated that initial offerings could arrive around October, with further releases expected before the end of the year.
