Meta's Superintelligence Labs launched Muse Code on August 5, 2026, marking its first commercial product. Yahoo Finance reports that the terminal-based coding agent runs on macOS and Linux and handles tasks including planning, writing and checking code.
The system uses background agents that work on coding tasks in parallel and maintains a local event log to support recovery. Meta's published benchmarks show Muse Spark 1.2 scoring 82.9% on Terminal-Bench 2.1 and 59.3% on DeepSWE 1.1. These results have not yet been independently verified.
Standard access costs $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. A contributor option reduces those rates to approximately $0.10 and $0.20, respectively, but requires developers to allow their prompts and completions to be used for model improvement.
The pricing strategy could help Meta attract developers while collecting real-world coding data for future training. However, teams handling sensitive code may avoid the discounted option because of its data-use conditions.
